“Putin is an expert in the art of lying”, accuses the Russian president
Today is the fourth day of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Russia’s decision to invade Ukraine is condemned on all sides. Now the famous Russian chess player Garry Kasparov has launched a scathing attack on President Vladimir Putin. Garry Kasparov said Putin had a long history of lying. In an interview, Garry Kasparov said, “One of Putin’s character-defining traits is his lying. He has a long history of lying and ultimately moving everything back and forth for his own benefit.”
Kasparov said: “It was completely stupid not to recognize his intentions towards Ukraine because he had never recognized Ukraine as an independent state. For many years Russian propaganda denied the existence of Ukraine,” said Garry Kasparov, adding that Putin had been preparing for war in Ukraine for a long time. Kasparov says the war could have been avoided if Western countries had listened to the Russian president.
Kasparov said: “At the Munich Security Conference in 2007, Putin discussed zones of influence. He wanted the world to be divided as in the past, where big countries would dictatorially teach small countries how behave. Putin was directly preparing for war in Ukraine,” Russian chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov said, adding that the current crisis is not just about Russia and Ukraine. This is the global security infrastructure. If Putin succeeds, the next number is China-Taiwan. Former world chess champion Garry Kasparov is known to be a critic of Putin. A few days ago, he used words like bankruptcy and war machine for Putin in a series of tweets. Garry Kasparov ranks among the greatest players in the world. He was world number one for almost 20 years, which is a record in itself.
